NCERT Deck is a study resource built around the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum followed in CBSE and CBSE-affiliated schools across India. The goal is simple: give every student, parent and teacher one organised place to find the right NCERT textbook for their class and subject, the correct edition of that textbook, and a clearly written, step-by-step solution for each chapter — without wading through scanned PDFs, ad-heavy blogs or mismatched editions.
NCERT revises its textbooks periodically, and when it does, both the outgoing and the incoming edition tend to stay in circulation for a while — some schools move to the new edition immediately, others continue with the old one for a term or two. NCERT Deck keeps "New NCERT" and "Old NCERT" completely separate throughout the site, from the homepage down to individual chapters, so a Class 9 Science chapter from the new edition is never mixed up with the equivalent chapter from the old one. Every book and chapter page states its edition clearly, and where a subject exists in both editions, a direct switch link lets you move between them without losing your place.
Content is organised the way students actually search for it: by class first (Class 1 through Class 12), then by subject, then by chapter. The NCERT curriculum, stage by stage
Primary (Class 1–5)
The foundation years focus on English, Hindi and Mathematics, joined by Environmental Studies from Class 3 onward. NCERT's primary-stage books lean on simple language, illustrations and activity-based exercises to build early reading, number-sense and observation skills.
Middle (Class 6–8)
Science and Social Science are introduced as full subjects alongside English, Hindi, Mathematics and a third language such as Sanskrit or Urdu. This is where NCERT textbooks start building the conceptual base — fractions and algebra in Maths, the physical and biological world in Science, history/geography/civics in Social Science — that later years build directly on.
Secondary (Class 9–10)
Class 9 and 10 cover the same core subjects in far more depth, preparing students for board-level assessment. Class 10 in particular is a milestone year, and its NCERT textbooks are written to match the board exam syllabus closely — which is why NCERT Deck treats Class 10 solutions with extra care around exercise numbering and method.
Senior Secondary (Class 11–12)
Students pick a stream — Science, Commerce or Humanities — and specialise. Can I download NCERT Book and Solution PDFs?
Where a PDF is available, a download button appears on the book or chapter page. If a PDF genuinely comes from NCERT, it's labelled “Official NCERT Source”; otherwise it's labelled as an external file so the source is never ambiguous.
Why does a chapter sometimes show only a book page and no solution yet?
Books and solutions are added independently, and a solution page is only published once it has been fully written and checked. Until then, the chapter's book page still links to the official textbook content.
