NCERT Books
NCERT publishes one textbook edition per subject at a time, but many students and teachers still refer to an earlier edition while it's being phased out. NCERT Deck keeps the two fully separate so you always know exactly which edition you're reading.

An NCERT Book is the official textbook published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training for a given class and subject, and it's the primary reference used across CBSE and CBSE-affiliated schools in India. NCERT Deck hosts these books organised by class, then subject, then edition, so a Class 8 Science book and a Class 8 Social Science book sit in clearly separate places rather than being lumped together.
The "New" and "Old" split matters because NCERT revises its textbooks on a rolling basis, subject by subject, rather than all at once. When a revision happens, schools don't necessarily switch over in the same term — some adopt the new edition immediately, others continue teaching from the old one for a year or two while supplies and training catch up. Reading from the wrong edition can mean mismatched chapter numbers, different worked examples, or exercises that don't match what's assigned as homework, so NCERT Deck never merges the two.
Every book page links through to its chapters, and where a chapter has a written NCERT Solution, that's linked directly too. Where NCERT has published an official PDF for a book, it's linked and clearly labelled "Official NCERT Source" so it's never confused with a third-party file. Subjects that don't have published chapters yet are still listed — marked "coming soon" — rather than hidden, so browsing and search stay complete even while new content is being added.
